Enjoying our summer!!

We are enjoying our summer while it's still here, with August right around the corner it's hard to believe that summer is nearing the end. Friday we visited MawMaw Carnes at Baptist East. William constantly walks around saying, "MawMaw sick, MawMaw better, MawMaw hospital". Since she is in CCU you must be 12 years and older to visit patients in that unit. After Will continued to beg to see MawMaw, I snuck him through the large double doors that separates the waiting room from the patient rooms. We went as fast as we could hoping we wouldn't get noticed, but as soon as we turned the corner a nurse yelled, "ma'm"! William's visit was very short, about a half a second!! MawMaw was able to sneak a peak at him and reached out to hold him, but we had leave. MawMaw is currently at St. Mary's hospital recovering from surgery that she had earlier today.

Brian and I went to Fuji, our favorite restaurant to celebrate our six year wedding anniversary, hard to believe that we've been married that long. We spent Sunday at the zoo with William, what a scorcher, it was soo HOT!! We had a great time walking around looking at all the animals, but thank God for splashin water park! Of course that was probably Will's favorite part of the whole day, we were all burning up, it felt great to get a little wet, so glad I didn't get totally drenched like some of the other parents. Once we left the zoo we finished our day off with ice cream. We visited the Homemade Ice cream and Pie Kitchen in the Highlands, it sure hit the spot!!

Family vacation in Florida

Celebrating the 4th in NYC!!

Brian and I celebrated the 4th of July in New York City. Jad, Brian's co-pilot and his fiance Ashley spent the weekend with us. Brian and Jad were in New York for work, so Ashley and I flew to the city on a commercial flight to join them. We spent pretty much all of our time sight seeing. We went to the Metropolitan museum of art, walked down 5th Ave, went to Time's Square, saw a Broadway show, watched fireworks from lower Manhattan, checked out Chinatown, took a few taxi rides and rode on the subway! I know that doesn't sound nearly exhausting as it was doing all of that, but it was. It literally felt like we walked 15 miles or more the first day! We had a great time. I did miss home, I couldn't wait to see my sweet boy, William and grass!! I could never live in NYC, too much concrete!
