CHRISTMAS

We had soo much fun this Christmas with William. He was so fascinated with Santa, definatley not afraid. Of course, the best part was William waking up to his new presents that Santa left for him. He seemed to understand that if he was a good boy, Santa would come down the chimney and leave him presents under the tree. We had a great Christmas and can't wait til next year!

It's that time of year again, the holidays are fast approaching. As usual I feel like I'm running out of time to finish everything before family Christmas get together's and before Santa's arrival. We still have a few presents to buy and a lot to wrap. The other night I asked William if he wanted to help me wrap presents, not such a good idea. He only wanted to hold the scissors and the ink pen, both very dangerous objects for a 2 1/2 year old to get a hold of. Oh, and stepping on my freshly wrapped gifts! There's no telling what kind of damage he could have done!! He found the ribbon I was using for the presents and decided to wrap his choo choo train, too cute! What a great idea!

Halloween

The cutest spider you've ever seen!! William loved getting dressed up in his spider costume so he could go trick-or-treating and get candy. What a wonderful halloween as far as weather goes. He enjoyed walking around our neighborhood in the dark. As soon as someone dropped candy in his pumpkin he would say, "I want to go to next"! Meaning, okay let's move to the next house, I want more candy!

Got Power?

The wind storm of 2008 left us with out power for 5 loong days!! I know, it could always be worse. Being power less for 5 days made us very thankful for electricity. It did force everyone to get out and enjoy the outdoors for a few days. Our neighborhood was full of walkers, bikers and people picking up debri in their yards. I love the convience of having power, it makes things much easier.

Here are a few pictures of William working in the yard. He loves to mow the grass and participate in any and all outdoor chores that get him sweaty and dirty! I have to say, He's a hard little worker!!

future pilot

William is our future pilot, he absolutley loves planes! He can spot an airplane it seems like from far, far away. Not only by sight, but he usually hears them before he sees them. Here lately William has been telling Brian to, "Fly me, Daddy!" In a very demanding tone, it's so so cute. Then he says, "fly over my house, Daddy." Brian took him up for a short flight, he had a great time! He sat in Daddy's lap the entire time, Daddy let him hold the controls, he got to help Daddy turn the airplane! How fun for a two year old!!

Recently Daddy has taught William that he flies jets. The other day while William and I were at Bowman Field waiting to watch Brian take off, William decided to use this information as a conversation starter...William informed everyone around us in the picnic area that, "my Daddy flies jets!" The two older men that were sitting there were a little surprised to hear someone William's size say that, they started cracking up. It was pretty funny!

Here are a few pics from the flight and of Will sitting in the cock pit of a jet...he's in heaven with all the buttons!!!

Kentucky State Fair

Last weekend we took William to the Kentucky State Fair for his first time. Years have passed since we had gone, but it was the same old fair! William had an absolute blast riding the kiddie rides. I have to say, we were very nervous to put him on the rides by his self without us on there with him, but he did great! He's our BIG BOY! Thanks Dean and Brigette for having us over to play, we had a fun time.

Still enjoying our summer!!

Enjoying our summer!!

We are enjoying our summer while it's still here, with August right around the corner it's hard to believe that summer is nearing the end. Friday we visited MawMaw Carnes at Baptist East. William constantly walks around saying, "MawMaw sick, MawMaw better, MawMaw hospital". Since she is in CCU you must be 12 years and older to visit patients in that unit. After Will continued to beg to see MawMaw, I snuck him through the large double doors that separates the waiting room from the patient rooms. We went as fast as we could hoping we wouldn't get noticed, but as soon as we turned the corner a nurse yelled, "ma'm"! William's visit was very short, about a half a second!! MawMaw was able to sneak a peak at him and reached out to hold him, but we had leave. MawMaw is currently at St. Mary's hospital recovering from surgery that she had earlier today.

Brian and I went to Fuji, our favorite restaurant to celebrate our six year wedding anniversary, hard to believe that we've been married that long. We spent Sunday at the zoo with William, what a scorcher, it was soo HOT!! We had a great time walking around looking at all the animals, but thank God for splashin water park! Of course that was probably Will's favorite part of the whole day, we were all burning up, it felt great to get a little wet, so glad I didn't get totally drenched like some of the other parents. Once we left the zoo we finished our day off with ice cream. We visited the Homemade Ice cream and Pie Kitchen in the Highlands, it sure hit the spot!!

Family vacation in Florida

Celebrating the 4th in NYC!!

Brian and I celebrated the 4th of July in New York City. Jad, Brian's co-pilot and his fiance Ashley spent the weekend with us. Brian and Jad were in New York for work, so Ashley and I flew to the city on a commercial flight to join them. We spent pretty much all of our time sight seeing. We went to the Metropolitan museum of art, walked down 5th Ave, went to Time's Square, saw a Broadway show, watched fireworks from lower Manhattan, checked out Chinatown, took a few taxi rides and rode on the subway! I know that doesn't sound nearly exhausting as it was doing all of that, but it was. It literally felt like we walked 15 miles or more the first day! We had a great time. I did miss home, I couldn't wait to see my sweet boy, William and grass!! I could never live in NYC, too much concrete!

William's 2 year pictures.

Last weekend I took William to have his pictures taken. We chose to have them taken outside rather than in a studio setting. Tammy Young, who is a photographer with Celebrity Kids snapped all the wonderful pictures. We met at PaPa John's corporate office, it's a great place to take photos. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. Here are a few of the 200 photos that were taken.

William's two year check up

William had his two year well check this past Thursday, and of course he looks good! His weight is in the 50th percentile, his height between 50th and 75th and his head circumference is just above 75th percentile. He had to get blood drawn, (standard procedure) to check his iron level and to check for lead. They checked for lead as a precaution because of all the toys that contained lead that were made in China. Oh, I almost forgot, he had to get one shot.
Now that Will is two he can enjoy peanut butter. He had his first PB&J sandwich on Friday, umm, soo good!!

Casey, don't fall off your chair, two posting's in less than a week! I know it's a little over the top!!

William is 2!!

Our sweet little boy has turned two, it's amazing how fast time flies. William celebrated his 2nd birthday with friends and family, he had such a great time. We planned for his party to mainly be outside so we were hoping for good weather. It was good in the sense that it was dry and sunny, but it sure was a scorcher! We rented an inflatable bouncer with an attached slide for the kidos to play on in the backyard. After cake and ice cream and after William opened his presents most of us played outside with water guns, water balloons and the hose. The water balloons were compliments of Cristy and Caden, (Cristy brought lots of balloons full of water and ready to throw). I had no idea she was bringing them, what a great way to cool off on such a hot day! William had never held a water balloon before he loved the fact that when he squeezed it the balloon burst and he got wet!
Thanks to everyone for joining us for William's special day. Of course, an extra thanks to Emmy and Gracie for always helping out with their favorite cousin. You two are wonderful with William, especially with keeping him happy!! Abby Kate we missed you at the party, hope to see you in Florida.
